Italia: AMERICAN FOOD and the Pitti Palace

Standard

Everyone was thoroughly exhausted after the final so we slept through breakfast, which is never that exciting anyway, but we were still starving so we needed something. We had heard there was an American restaurant near the Bargello, so we decided to check it out.

Best. Decision. Ever. After the final a huge American breakfast was just what we needed to start the day.

We all thought the mugs were pretty adorable…

And the food was so good and so filling!

If I had more time in Italy or discovered this earlier I definitely would have gone more.

After breakfast we napped and went on our last outing to the Pitti Palace (last worksheet too!!)

It’s mostly paintings and statues inside, but behind the palace are the Boboli Gardens (which are not really gardens… there are no flowers, just lots and lots of paths), so we explored outside once we finished our worksheet…

Yup… this happened. We were all pretty mesmerized watching this bird swallow the fish whole, but afterwards we decided to go back to the Istituto and rest up so we could celebrate being done with the seminar that night!

We went to the Red Garter and rocked out to some karaoke!

Billy, Sean and JD’s rendition of I Want it That Way by the Backstreet Boys was probably my favorite!

Definitely a proper celebration of our time in Florence.
